Johnnie's Lounge
3425 N. Lincoln Ave.
248-3000

Nothing seems to have changed in the place since about '71 when Johnnie took it over. It's a quiet joint, where you can go and have a conversation on a Saturday night and still have a little atmosphere. The only way you wouldn't get a seat at the bar is if you came with 30 other friends and they all sat down before you. The jukebox is stocked with 45s and you get at least five plays for a dollar, if not six. Sinatra, Jim Croce, Milli Vanilli, Dolly Parton-Kenny Rogers duets. It's a classic. The house beer is Crystal, a 16 oz. pilsner from the Czech Republic - nice to get a few and share 'em around.
