Tokyo

We're pretty much suckers for places under the train tracks, so it's a given we're gonna be double-suckers for anyplace under the tracks and down a dark alley. Nothing but a small sign and a single lightbulb marking the door — you standing there wondering if they'll let you in without the secret knock.

Inside it's pretty damn spacious for Tokyo. Like a mini-warehouse. There's gallery space up front for rotating artwork and installations, and tables in the back. In actuality the place doesn't hold THAT many people, so sometimes it's hard to get a table. If only they'd open up that mezzanine level -- they'd be the best seats in the house.

Technically I guess it's a restaurant/cafe, but we use it like a bar most of the time and no one seems to mind.
